Kristin and Terry are both divorced and have been living together in Winnipeg for about four years. Both of their divorces were very challenging and stressful.  They have $30,000 saved for a down payment and have a family of six between them and need a home with four or five bedrooms. However, under the new mortgage rules, their dreams of a perfect home for their family have been dashed. They were once pre-approved for $420,000, but now sit at $290,000. This now leaves Kristin and Terry with very few options in the city.
